Lucia Cadotsch hat sich mit SPEAK LOW einen langjähringen Wunsch erfüllt: Gemeinsam mit den Meistern des Retrofuturismus Petter Eldh am Kontrabass und Otis Sandsjö am Tenorsaxophon singt sie eine berückend schöne Sammlung von modern Traditionals, wie Gloomy Sunday, Black is The Color und Moon River. In Versionen, die unverkennbar den Stempel Berlin tragen. In drei Tagen mit drei Instrumenten direkt auf Band gespielt. Live, minimalistisch, symphonisch! Raw like Ceviche! Man könnte aber auch sagen: Das besondere an diesem Trio ist, es gibt weder ein Rhythmus- noch ein Harmonie Instrument. Aber wer denkt, sie seien somit in ihrem Ausdruck limitiert, irrt. Die Drei haben alles, was sie brauchen, um diese wunderschönen Songs auf ihre ureigenste, aufwühlende, sehr heutige Art zu interpretieren. Hier hörst du das Saxophon und denkst an einen Vintage-Synth, dort klingen die Saiten und das Holz des Basses wie die Kick und die Claps einer 808. Aber: No effects, it`s a Band und zwar eine, die mit allem spielen kann und es tut. Darin und darüber singt Lucia Cadotsch frei, direkt und stolz, wie ein Instrument und wie eine Erzählerin. Was sie singt, klingt immer echt, weil der Song und ihr Herz es ihr genau so flüstern.
